Philly Cheesesteak Skillet
with Mushrooms, Pepper & Onions
Think Philly cheesesteak, and you’ll see ooey-gooey melted cheese and generous slices of tender beef. Now think of making it a good time keto meal, thanks to this skillet version with extra veggies and without any need for a carby hoagie bun.

- 50g Sliced red onions
- 225g Sliced mushrooms
- 10ml Worcestershire sauce
- 30g Grated mozzarella
- 8g Montréal Steak House spices (sea salt, spices, onion, garlic, mustard, coriander seeds, thyme, canola oil)

Preparation

Mise en place
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Halve, core and thinly slice the sweet pepper lengthwise.

Cook the vegetables
- In a large, oven-safe pan, heat a drizzle of oil on medium-high.
- Add the mushrooms and sauté, 1 to 2 min., until lightly browned.
- Add the onions, sweet pepper and ½ the spices. Sauté, 2 to 3 min., until beginning to soften.
- Add the Worcestershire sauce, 2 tbsp water (double for 4 portions) and S&P.
- Stir, transfer to the oven and roast, 5 to 7 min., until tender.

Cook the steaks
- Meanwhile, pat the steaks dry; rub with the remaining spices and a drizzle of oil.
- In a medium pan, heat a drizzle of oil on medium-high.
- Add the steaks* and cook, 3 to 5 min. per side, until cooked as desired (to ensure a consistent temperature throughout, turn over at least twice).
- Transfer to a cutting board and let rest before slicing.

Broil the skillet
- When the vegetables are tender, stir and top with the cheese.
- Switch the oven to broil, 2 to 3 min., until the cheese has melted.

Plate your dish
- Divide the steaks and skillet between your plates. Bon appétit!
*Health Canada recommends cooking beef to a minimum internal temperature of 63°C.
