Why pick a favourite? French onion soup is much loved for its deep, dark, cheesy notes. Pizza is an endless source of comfort and cravings. Unite them on a winter night. A spread of ricotta sprinkled with our Herb Harvest seasonings set up rounds of naan to receive a hearty topping of browned ground pork. Caramelized onions and Emmental cheese conjure up those irresistibly savoury soup qualities. And a side salad reminds you to eat your veg.

Preparation

Cook the pork
Preheat the oven to broil. In a medium pan, heat a generous drizzle of oil on medium-high. Add the pork*; season with ½ the spices and S&P. Cook, breaking up the meat, 4 to 6 min., until browned and cooked through.

Make the seasoned ricotta
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the ricotta, a drizzle of oil, ½ the remaining spices and S&P.

Assemble & broil the pizzas
Arrange the naan on a lined sheet pan. Spread with the seasoned ricotta. Top with the pork, onions and cheese. Broil, 2 to 4 min., until warmed through and beginning to crisp.

Make the salad
Meanwhile, roughly chop the lettuce. In a large bowl, combine the vinegar, 3 tbsp oil (double for 4 portions), the remaining spices and S&P. Add the lettuce and carrots; toss well.

Plate your dish
Divide the pizzas (cut into wedges) and salad between your plates. Bon appétit!
