Who wants oodles of noodles? The kids will love twirling them with morsels of browned beef and edamame. They may even want to help in the kitchen—given that this approachable Chinese recipe takes only 15 minutes.

  • 300g Shredded cabbage
  • 2 Scallions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 450g Rice noodles
  • 150g Edamame (or green peas)
  • 90ml Teriyaki glaze
  • 30ml Rice vinegar
  • 12g Mellow Sesame spices (brown sugar, sea salt, white sesame, garlic, canola oil, ginger, paprika flavour, black pepper, cellulose)

Boil the noodles

  • Bring a small pot of salted water to a boil.

  • Off the heat, add the noodles; stir gently to separate.

  • Cover and let sit for 5 to 7 min. until al dente.

  • Drain, rinse under cold water and toss with a drizzle of oil to prevent sticking.

  • Meanwhile, thinly slice the scallions crosswise, separating the white bottoms and green tops.

  • Mince the garlic.

Cook the beef & cabbage

  • In a large, high-sided pan, heat a drizzle of oil on medium-high.

  • Add the beef; season with the spices. Cook, breaking up the meat, 2 to 3 min., until lightly browned.

  • Add the cabbage, garlic, white bottoms of the scallions and S&P. Cook, stirring often, 2 to 3 min., until the cabbage begins to soften.

  • Add 1 cup water and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, 2 to 4 min., until the beef* is cooked through.

Combine the noodles

  • To the pan, add the teriyaki glaze, vinegar and edamame. Cook, stirring often, 1 to 2 min., until warmed through.

  • Add the noodles and cook, stirring often, 1 to 2 min., until combined; season with S&P.

  • If the noodles seem dry, gradually add up to ½ cup water until you achieve your desired consistency.

Plate your dish

  • Divide the noodles between your bowls.

  • Garnish with the green tops of the scallions. Bon appétit!
